Three services under one roof in the Central FinlandNordic Information Office provides information on the Nordic Countries locally and it falls within the authority of Nordic Council and Nordic Council for Ministers. There are two Nordic Information Offices in Finland, in Vaasa and Jyväskylä. Altogether there are eight Information Offices in the Nordic Countries. Consulate of Sweden serves Swedish citizens living in the area. Consulate also helps them to communicate with local authorities. Central Finlands district of the Pohjola-Norden Association is part of Finlands Pohjola-Norden association and functions as its local means of communication and coordinator. Pohjola-Norden is central association for Nordic citizen cooperation in Finland. In addition, as a member of Pohjola-Norden you can read Pohjola-Norden periodical and participate activities which your local association arranges. |
Nordic activitiesOur office informs about official Nordic cooperation and brings visibility for Nordic operations. It also gives advise concerning Nordic financing opportunities. Furthermore, arranging Nordic events in the region is one of the major activities. Regular Nordic activities in Central Finland include e.g. Nordic theme weeks and theme get-togethers, Nordic libraryweek, Nordic day and Nordic feast, exhibitions and performers as well as twin city visits.
